4 Rules for Work-Life Harmony

Tonight we’re talking about work-life balance. I’m going to cut to the chase on this one. I don’t have any crazy life altering stories to share here. I do, however, have 4 rules I live by:

1. Ditch the see-saw for a triangle. It’s not work and life (or work and family for many working moms). Both of these leave YOU out of the equation. You need a triangle where you seek harmony between work, family, and what YOU need.

2. Get crystal clear on priorities. The one finite resource in this world is time. You can only spend 24 hours a day so be extra clear on what your priorities are each and every day. Big picture (my family is important to me) sure, but I really mean at a more granular and actionable level than that.

3. Get comfortable delegating. It’s the only way to expand time.

4. Don’t expect to find harmony every day or even every week. We are going for more days in harmony than out of harmony. It’s a rating scale, not a balanced math equation. 😉
