The Power to Make Fear Disappear

This week we are talking about action over fear. Several of my posts this month have touched on this theme. Last week's #hergrowthcollective post ended with my confession that 2020 is supposed to be my brave year. What is bravery without fear?⠀
Tonight I want to put a slightly different spin on this. Action over fear is wonderful. If it helps mentally organize and prioritize your thoughts in this manner than by all means, please do. My comments are not intended to discourage you in any way.⠀
When you are comfortable with this idea of action over fear, I'd like you to consider taking it up a notch...⠀
Action erases fear.⠀
Things are always scarier in our head. Nelson Mandela famously said, "It always seems impossible until it's done."⠀
Carol Moseley Braun built on this idea and added a little sparkle for us: "Magic lies in challenging what seems impossible."⠀
What seems impossible is fear. It's the overgrown worry and overblown risks that live in the dark twists and turns of our head space and lead us to believe that we can't do something. ⠀
Remember being a child who saw magic in everything? Snowflakes, stars, twinkling lights... all magical. I bet you had big plans to take on the world just as soon as you were old enough to walk in high heels. Fear wasn't even part of the equation. ⠀
Without fear, nothing seems impossible.⠀
So how do we get rid of the fear and reclaim the magic again? Just act. ⠀
It can be that simple if you let it. One small, imperfect action after another. One small step after another. Each action and each step erases a tiny bit of fear. It brings "it" out of your head and into the real world where you can see progress being made. After enough actions and steps you will begin to see a way forward and, eventually, a little red dot on the map indicating that your destination is within view.⠀
And with each passing milestone and clarified roadmap it will seem a little less impossible. ⠀
The fear will dissipate a little more. ⠀
Until one day, it will be done and the last wisps of fear will blow away with the wind.⠀
YOU have the power to make fear disappear... the magic is in your action.
